Church into condos Anne Arundel County developer John Pilli plans to transform a historic downtown Annapolis church into three condominiums. Located at the corner of Prince George's Street and Maryland Avenue, the three-story church -- considered an example of Victorian Gothic Revival architecture -- dates back to 1897.

Pilli said he expects to retain the original exterior of the building, which was once known as Maryland Avenue M.E. Church. "I want to preserve the building's beauty in a way that gives it new life," he said. "Each residence will not only have all the modern conveniences, but it will also showcase a more than 100-year-old landmark." The project will encompass more than the condos, though. Pilli plans to renovate the building's ground floor into commercial space, while creating a separate entrance facing Prince George's Street. The building -- now called Parish House -- is being remodeled.
